Hey guys,

I am looking to get a new graphics card, my current motherboard is a Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3, I have about £300 to spend, is this a decent card? I play a variety of different games, Looking at a:-

GEFORCE GTX 1060 DUAL OC 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD

Either that card or a rx580, flip a coin really.

I would get the 580. Once Volta comes out, NVIDIA will stop optimising it's drivers for Pascal while AMD's cards age better than NVIDIA.

The 900 series is still doing well in today’s games.
It hasn't aged as well as AMD in latest games. The GTX 970 used to hang with the R9 290X when it was new and now the 290X beats it on almost every game and it's even surpassed the GTX 980 in quite a few of them. I have no doubt once Volta comes out, the RX 580 will leave the 1060 in the dust.
