So with many people set on upgrading and setting money aside for the 2080/2070 myself included....

Now what?

After the initial conference we are now seeing masses boycotting and choosing to use the money for other parts or things.

I’m going to use the money I would have spent upgrading from the 1080 and get a PS4 Pro ready for Red Dead Redemption 2, I think I’ll pick one up tomorrow. :D

I'm gonna stick with my GTX 1070 and wait a year for the RTX 2070 to hopefully get a bit cheaper. It's a shame because I wanted to play Witcher 3 on my 4K TV at 60fps, and I want Fallout 4 VR to run a bit better, but the prices being asked just aren't worth it IMO. It's not that I can't afford it, it's more that I don't want to reward nVidia's greed.

PS4 Pro is definitely looking appealing right now, I have a bunch of unplayed PS4 games.

It looks like the masses are mainly boycotting the 2080ti not the 2080/2070 which are more reasonably priced...

I'd usualy be all for boycotting Nvidia as a supporter of the underdog but this is me after today: https://i.imgflip.com/2g8qvb.jpg

I actually pre-ordered the 2080 but will cancel the order if fails to beat the 1080ti in benchmarks.

I wouldn't call them reasonably priced at all.

2070 if performance matches or exceeds a 1080Ti or 1080Ti if found at a decent price on members market in the meantime as the 2070 seems 2-3 months away still.

I'm on the fence at the moment - one aspect that is kind of killing my motivation to spend money on a GPU is that really 7nm GPUs "shouldn't" be far off.

TBH I think I'm probably going to hold out for Black Friday - if someone does a really tempting deal on a 2080 or 2080ti (not just a token 1% off) then I'll probably jump otherwise wait and see. Unfortunately compared to 5 years ago Black Friday sales have been a bit meh the last few.

This has confirmed my thoughts on returning to AMD and sticking with them. It might put the secondhand prices on the 10XX series up. In which case I'll sell my 1070 and move sideways to Vega.

Bought my Vega 64 on launch day, added a 1440p 40-144Hz Freesync screen not long after.

I’m plenty happy thanks, I can just let all this BS pricing just wash over me.

Was going to upgrade but the price is too much for me. I bought a 980ti as soon as AIO desisngs were out. It cost £600. The price for the top tier card has practically doubled in 2 generations so I won't be getting one.

I'm tempted to get a Vega 64 right now but I think I'll wait and buy a 7nm vega/navi when it's released.

I cant believe the prices are so high, IMO £900 for a top card is expensive but acceptable. The Asus 2080ti is nearly £1400 which is crazy

Since my 1070 still works perfectly fine in games, I have no plans on upgrading into this generation. Besides next year it’s time for the 7nm GPU/CPU’s, so I’d much rather wait and see if it’s time to upgrade at that point.

I bought a 390x on black friday for £250 in 2015. It was after the more powerful Fury and Fury X were released, but it competed with the 980. I want to spend another £250 this black Friday but it looks like that will get me a 1060 which offers the same performance to my 390x. What the hell :(

I have a 1080 at the mo and might sell it and get myself a second hand 1080ti off ebay before they all get removed by the sellers now they've seen the prices of the 20 series lol

I feel like a scumbag but I’ve just refunded the guy who bought mine! I deserve negative feedback for it but so be it.

No way am I parting with my beautiful 1080ti now!!!
