What makes you think 1080 is OBVIOUSLY faster then 2070..?1080 is obviously faster but I'm not sure I'd want a 1080FE card, they tend to throttle under load.

fair enough. didnt look in to that...Specs and comparing 2080/Ti results, 2070 should be around 1070/Ti performance.
what about this article ?
Is it bull or part of the truth ?

utter bs. if the numbers they fantasize were true it would put it within range of a 2080..
I think it would look very bad for Nvidia if it comes in slower than the 1080.
The stated US price for the 2070 is $499 and $599 for FE version. But taking from the experience of the launch of the non-FE 1080Ti was pretty much the same as the FE card, we can just ignore the $499 Nvidia claims and use the $599 pricing as reference.I don't think it's going to be slower, I think it's going to be exactly a 1080 but priced like a 1080ti because it has RTX in front of its name rather than GTX.
Amazing how we have gone from used to getting (9)80Ti, then (10)80 and now down to (20)70 card in the same price bracket. At this rate in 2-3 years we will be getting (30)60Ti card at this price bracketIt shows as £569.00 for the FE on the nvidia shop website.
Why would a 2070 be 1070 performance thatmakes no sense.Specs and comparing 2080/Ti results, 2070 should be around 1070/Ti performance.

Also pricing aside, the sad truth is that those extra silicon space that they set aside for delivering (underwhelming performing) Ray-tracing, had they use them for extra Steam Processors/Cores, the RTX cards would have been faster by some decent margin. Why would a 2080 Ti cost £1,200? That makes no sense.
Nothing about these cards makes sense. It's entirely possible that once you strip away the RTX tech, the raster guts of the 2070 may well not reach 1080 performance.
The 2080 Ti is, what, 30% faster than the 1080 Ti? The 2080 is on par with the 1080 Ti. So the 2070 should be about 1080 performance, but I'm half expecting it to be about 1070 Ti simply because xx70 Ti is 1 tier above xx70
