Best place for new switches/sockets etc

Get keys to my new build Friday and plan to change all the white switches and sockets etc to brushed alloy or black chrome

Anyone got recommendation for best place for them please?

The cooker socket between the hob and the oven....

i'm struggling to find a BG Nexus one for that all the cooker ones ive found are single 3 pin with one cooker switch :(

i always liked the look of the volex polished iridium black ones from b&q i think you can get ones very similar from specialist electrical retailers though

No, but I notice you have the white switches/plugs now that protrude out from the wall. You will need to make sure what you buy will.fit in the back boxes, otherwise you will need to install deeper back boxes as well as the screwless fittings are designed to sit flush with the wall and the cover plate clips over giving a neat finish.

Looks to me like there is a recessed bit at the top of the door which would open right to left I’m guessing, you can just make out a darker strip just like the drawers next to it.

I always buy from the "click deco" range through alert electrical. Looks smart and far better terminals and build quality than cheap switches such as BG

I've just bought some Click Deco stuff as well having seen them recommended elsewhere over stuff like British General.

I got them from http://www.superlecdirect.com/ who are usually one of the cheapest places around and it's free next day delivery over £50 I think. They sell cable by the metre which is really useful too.
