Lost V5.... But need to send it off to update change of address. Catch 22?

Ok, son has lost his V5 and has no record of the long number on the document.

So he needs a replacement and needs to update the address on it after a move.

Does he have to put in for a new one but it has to be sent to his old address? Which is a little problematic.

Or...

Can you get a replacement one with the new address already on it and sent to the new address too, of course?

I suspect its it's former of the 2 above?

I posted my V5 to DVLA to change address and never heard back, got lost in the post! I requested a new one and address change at the same time. The replacement one says "This is a duplicate" but hopefully not a problem come resale time.

Although I did take photos of my original V5 before I posted it, and may have put those numbers into some form to get the replacement. Cant remember to be honest
