Does Handbrake support encoding 4k video with HDR?

I've just bought my first 4k Blu-ray disc and like with my DVDs and Blu-rays I want to rip it so I can play it on my computer. If I rip the 4k Blu-ray disc and encode the resulting rip in Handbrake at 4k resolution will Handbrake keep the HDR data or will it be lost in the encoding process?

I'll be using the H.264 MKV 2160p 60fps preset.

Had a quick look around and seems Handbrake does not yet support HDR output. Seems it's still a work in progress.

Any reason why you're picking h.264 over h.265? h.265 will take longer but will also take less space.

Time constraints. Encoding a 4k film in H.264 already takes about 2 or 3 hours on my computer. I dread to think how long an H.265 encode would take. Thanks for the info about HDR.
