Next up the running is the X570 Aorus Ultra featuring 14 Phases.
Unlike the Master, the Ultra uses the slightly less power IR3553 40A integrated mosfets . 12 For the VCore and 2 PPak Integrated Mosfet for the SoC.
Also unlike the Master the Boards uses 6 doublers as the Ultra features an 8 Channel PWM, the Master and Xtreme utilise a 16 Channel Controller
The Ultra features a 8+4 pin set up for powering the AM4 socket, Master and Xtreme feature dual 8 pins . All 4 boards including the Pro would handle a 16 core Ryzen 3950x easily enough, dual 8 pins allow more power for extreme overclocks and cleaner power deliver

Buildzoid breakdown

Hot on the Heals of the Ultra is the X570 Aorus Pro (with or without AX Wifi )

Ultra Features the exact same VRM set up as the Ultra, main differences bar looks is the VRM cooling. Only one heatsink uses the finned design.
Also M.2 slots going from 3 to 2 as well as differing PCIe 4.0 lane distribution

Introducing Aorus's entry Board, The X570 AORUS Elite

Key differences over the Elite are a lower PCB layer count of 4 from the above 6/8.
There is only a single 8 Pin power plug - though still fine for 12 core at stock.
The VRM set up still features a 12+2 set up, and whilst using higher Amp mosfets (50A), they are slightly lower in quality (Run slightly hotter and lower thermal threshold)

Looks like the X570 boards could be a real step up for AMD fans. I'm hoping there will be sine decent motherboards around £250. Planning to spend substantially more on this upgrade than previously.

Nice to be taken more seriously this time around.

Yes I think there could be a bit of a bonanza all around. With RAM prices dropping along with solid state storage, the release of 3X00 series CPUs with higher quality motherboards and a lot of people needing an upgrade from the Sandybridge era. AMD is gaining mindshare so I can see a lot of sales come June/July.

hoping that you dont need Samsung B-Die this time around to run higher ram, or the fact ram speed doesn't effect performance as much would be nice

Good point. That could shave a bit off my budget. I have heard that 3200MHz will be the default supported speed. May be able to get close to 4000MHz with two DIMMS?

interesting read about PCIe 4.0 effects the chip more then thought . basically , ryzen 3000 in theory x470 should be faster then in a x370 if the same chip was swapped back and forth - but taking into from server based systems

Now the main advantage that AMD gains over Intel is that PCIe Gen 4 offers them twice the bandwidth as PCIe Gen 3. This is crucial along with the updated Infinity Fabric that AMD is using on their server processors. While the previous Infinity Fabric relied on the PCIe Gen 3 speeds for inter-chip communication, having PCI-e Gen 4 would mean that the Infinity Fabric would be affecting the PCI-e capacity lesser this time, directly enhancing the chip-to-chip, socket-to-socket, and I/O band-width speeds.

im guessing on the flip side. Ryzen 2*** should actually BE FASTER with B550/X570 boards..... since the chips use Infab more heavily

Hoping that I can run dual channel 4 pair ram kit, elsewhere I was told the current Ryzen boards were a hit and miss for supporting all four slots in dual channel at 3200mhz

Gigabyte/Aorus tend to shift their focus more on bios tweaks for 4 dimm slots populated then 2 , reason why other rbands like asus shoot to ram speed records on dual dimm board set ups.

also another factor is Ryzens weaker IMC then intel's - could have the best board design in the worse and a weak IMC and it'll all end up in smoke

Aorus NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2

LV0Cpvs.png

Design of Heatsink totally different from Board heatsink or their recent RGB M.2. Looks more like the Fin heatsink design from Current X470 Aorus flagship board

from other readings, seems dual raid gets chipsets hot

Why is the vrm even more beefy than the 9900k motherboards? AMD keeps saying 105w for 3900x, so motherboard manufacturers build it for 300w+ I’m confused
