Terribly sad news. Prayers with the affected this Easter.

Now will the media make a song and dance on it like the New Zealand attack? Or will it fill a news day and be the end of it?

The plight of Christians around the world is perilous in a number of locations. The middle east has nearly expunged them at this stage.

All over the world...
Terrible news and yet again whoever has carried out these attacks have no shame in where or who they target. I have my suspicions about who carried out these attacks. But until the perpetrators take responsibility or evidence shows otherwise then it’s at best a guess.

Seems like places of worship are no longer safe places :/.

Names are in the hat over who did it but yet another country that tragically can't get a break from the killing of innocents.
Celebrating what to many is the most holy day in the Christian calendar.
Thankfully not seen anything to say the perpetrators filmed this one.

Its almost obvious from Which backround the perpetrators come From. However will wait for it to be confirmed or will have the rabid defenders in here

Its probably not Muslim's, if that's your angle. Buddhists have been behind most of the violence on Sri Lanka.

Isn't the violence from Buddhists usually targetted towards Muslims for historic reasons? I can't see why they would attack Christians as there isn' the same historic animosity.

a minority of extremist from the tamil region have been behind a lot of it because they wanted independence, and they didnt really care who they attacked initially.

its only over the last maybe 10 years that muslims have been targeted more aggressively since the civil war ended. its always been a place thats had violence between its various religious groups.

"Thoughts and Prayers" - you changed your FB image to support those affected too?

Make religion a crime or give the peaceful religion a country of their own.

Of course not. The victims are Christians.
I switched on the BBC News to find out more. The last three news items have been a fire on a UK moor, the climate change protestors and now a programme about birds adapting to climate change. The only reference to the event in the last 20 mins is the scrolling banner across the bottom.

Sri Lanka’s defence and military officials have decided to impose a curfew “just until things settle down,” according to state minister of defence Ruwan Wijewardene, saying that investigators have identified the culprits.

He suggested the attacks, which he described as a “terrorist” incident, were the work of religious extremists.

Wijewardene said.

We have taken all the necessary precautions to keep this country safe and the people safe. We believe that all the culprits who have been involved in this unfortunate terrorist incident, will be taken into custody as soon as possible. They have been identified, and they will be taken into custody as soon as possible.

what are you on about? Civil war was fought between Tamils (LTTE), who are Hindu and Sinhalese (majority) who are Buddhists. The terror attacks in the past have been committed by LTTE then.

That's because it's a headline item - at 10:38 that's already passed and they are onto the lesser news items. It's 11am now and it's on the BBC news channel as a headline.
