That's good news for AMD, with the out going low/mid end Polaris cards doing so well when compared to Nvidia's newest maybe there's an opportunity here for Navi to strike a blow on Nvidia's market share if they choose to take it.

Polaris is still holding up well, as Steve from HUB said its the GPU that refuses to die

In all honesty yes AMD are benefiting from nVidia's greed here, but they really do need to hit the ground running with Navi, about a year ago AMD moved a chunk of the Ryzen engineering team over to the GPU division so i'm hopeful good things will come from it.

In all honesty yes AMD are benefiting from nVidia's greed here, but they really do need to hit the ground running with Navi, about a year ago AMD moved a chunk of the Ryzen engineering team over to the GPU division so i'm hopeful good things will come from it.

Same here, I'm not sure if it'll have reaped any rewards with this years Navi but maybe early next we'll start hearing & seeing stuff on a multichip design, If they can get that working properly for the GPU division it'll be game on. With poor products like the 1650 & losing Tesla on the self drive side of things Nvidia deserve the loses & hopefully AMD can gain some traction against the Nvidia mindset.

At the entry level AMD has one card worth buying, at the high end they have one card.

Nvidia has most of the in between and Ultra high end on lockdown.

The 1650 may be a let down compared to the RX 570 but they have a huge range of other products

Maybe fewer people are upgrading right now but if they are going to upgrade chances are it’s to buy Nvidia

RX 580 8GB are £180, i would add that in there, Vega 56 is significantly faster than the 1660TI, and the same price, its closer to the RTX 2060 so i would replace the 1660TI with it. However the RTX 2080 is faster than the Vega VII and the same price, i don't think it has a place.

I think vega 56 & 64 deserve places in that order but nvidia has gotten used to jogging in a race that's speeding up but if all else fails I'm sure they some dirty tricks up their sleeve to hold AMD back just as Intel does anytime the competition gets a bit too close.

I excluded Vega 56 and 64 from my list simply because it's incredibly difficult to find them in stock over here as no one sells them.
Secondly, even when they are in stock, they cost nearly the same here as a RTX2070 here

All the high end NVidia cards are really poor SKUs that are overpriced and fail to offer the end user what they want, instead we are stuck with what they think we should have.

Winter is coming for NVidia when either intel or AMD start releasing high end cards with just the features that the end user really wants at reasonable prices.

I you are after 1080p/midrange cards AMD are best bang for buck big time. I really don't see what Nvidia are thinking releasing all these cards that are so close in performance to others.

Small GPU so it's cheap to make, they can cut the price a bit if sales go stagnant. And let's be honest here no matter how bad the value proposition on this GPU/card their reviewer's are making this out to be check the steam stats in a years time and it will have most likely caught up and outsold the RX 570. This what Nvidia are thinking.

Rubbish price, but still the most powerful card you can get without needing aditional power. Needs to be cheaper.

At 1080p though this 1650 has the same performance per dollar as the AMD cards. At higher resolutions the 570 does well but in absolute terms it will struggle at 1440P or above. The vega 56 looks like a better offer than any Polaris at 1440p.


If you are limited by the PSU then the 1650 is a now brainer.
