Both are now the same price. I have a b450 carbon pro but have not used it yet. Should I swap it for the x470 gaming pro

Unless you need the X470 chipset for a particular reason then no it would not be worth it. Your Current Mobo can handle any of the cpu's you throw at it, and has decent VRM's (For B450) with decent cooling, the Gaming pro may have slightly (very slightly) better vrm's but actually has worse vrm cooling. Many don't take this into consideration but it is an important factor these days.
The lowest you would want to go on Msi's line up for X470 would be the X470 gaming pro carbon. That being said your current mobo is a stonking board for its price point and beats out many X470's around its price point.
