Upgrade advice, is it worth it?

I'm looking to upgrade my system to something that's going to last both some time but with upgrade paths available. I've been playing Forza, civ, cities skylines, monster Hunter which all play fine but the system feels a bit old these days and I am so far out of touch with specs in not sure how much of a jump in performance there would be.

Current rig:
3750k @ 4ghz
Z77ma-g45
16 gb ram (can't remember the brand but the clock speed was low)
240 gb ssd
1tb storage
970gtx
Benq xl2411z monitor (1080p 144hz)
650a xfx psu

Budget would be circa £800-£1k and I'd like a new tower with the meshify c windowless being my preference ( it lives under a desk).

I'd appreciate thoughts and advice as I'm really not sure if I'd see the benefit at the moment.

Thanks!

XFX XPS-650w-SEW
that is a seasonic rebrand. decent by 2011 standards.
at a push if you really don't have a budget to get a new psu, you could reuse it...but probably the safest option would be to get a new one.
your call really. no right or wrong answer with this one, only shades of grey (you're not running an el-cheapo bomb that may go off any minute)

550w is enough for your build. but can get the 650w for a tenner more.
(or, as mentioned above, the bitfenix formula if on a budget - but 'only' 5 years warranty and non-modular cables)
