I thought G1/4 is 16mm od?

I have 16mm petg but want 16mm glass but think the internal diameter of the glass is 11mm. Think the petg is 12mm so probably wouldn't work?

G1/4 refers to the side that screws into the component e.g. the rad, block, pump. The other end of the fitting varies from 10mm ID to as much as 16mm ID and if you get the wrong tubing it will not work. It is a common error on here for people to have leaks caused by buying tubing from one manufacturer and fittings from another.

Yes with hard tubing as usually the fitting compress's down onto the tube and / or secures it from the outside, rather then having something hold it from the middle as you likely will see with soft tubing, so yeah its the OD of the fitting that is important. Most 16mm OD fittings should fit, but buy 1 or 2 and try them first before committing. Can be some odd quirks, mainly with how each brand measure, but on the whole, should be okay.
