Just got the Ryzen 5 3600 4.2ghz Bundle and installed into a new system but seems to be running at 3.6ghz..
Is there some sort of config in the bios which needs to be activated to boost it to 4.2ghz ?
Thanks for any help

The 3600 has a base clock of 3.6 with boost clocks of 4.2 for lightly threaded loads. Are you sure the frequency isnt bouncing around as you would expect with ryzen?

Is it just a standard bundle or one of OCUK's pre overclocked bundles?

If standard then it will be as Vince said, if its a pre- overclocked one then OCUK will have manually configured a 24/7 overclock @ 4.2ghz. There will be a saved profile in the bios for that, but they ship stock.

So it really depends on which bundle it is.

AsusROG Strix X470-F Gaming AMD X470 (Socket AM4) DDR4 ATX
AMDRyzen 5 3600 Six Core 4.2GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail
Team GroupVulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz

I can't find any profile apart from the Default one in the bios...
Should this have come as 4.2ghz as OCUK did have to perform a bios update on the mobo before sending it out.
I was assuming it would be set at 4,2ghz as soon as I boot up, I know in my last build it was an OC Bundle and there is a bios profile for the OC.
BUT for this build I just can't figure out why it's not running at the advertsied 4.2ghz :(
thanks for any help

That's just the retail text for the processor itself. Check the listing for it, it's identical.

That's just stating the maximum boost block the CPU is capable of. It's not overclocked - that's down to you ;)

You need HWiNFO64 or similar app to monitor stuff like highest clockspeed. BIOS will run it at 3.6 and Windows will say "3.6" as well.

Turn off the Cstates and see if it stays at 4.2 when in windows, surely it works like previous chipsets. if you want it to show the higher clock all the time turn off C1E and other C States/Speedstep. I do this myself to keep my chip running @ 4.7 24/7.
