Alcantara is cloth...
Pedant!

If cheap contract hire interests you look at the Skoda Karoq on leasing.com over 2 years. Whilst it's the class size down it's huge inside and has 3 independant/removable rear seats. Only downside is the engines are closer to 150bhp.

Alternatively up the budget and look at the Kodiaq. It'll be a hell of a lot cheaper to run than a 2013 high mileage Disco so will likely cost you less money even if you spend more on the purchase.

I like this a lot! especially sportline or edition trim
Rear width is 1451cm according to Skoda website so I'll compare that against some others

I was in a similar situation 3 years ago, needed a car to accomodate 2 child seats and a person in the back. There surprising few cars that can do it, so its essentially MPV's and large SUV's that fit the bill.

I ended up with a Volvo XC60 R design D4, and its been a fantastic car. Its supremely comfortable, looks good, the only down side is that the infotainment is looking old now.

Skoda Superb would just about do it aswell, but no chance for any of the other large estates, ie 5 series,E class and A6.

Hadn't considered these thanks
Looks to fit most of my criteria, not as wide in the rear as the Karoq though at 1430cm

There's a voice that keeps on calling me.
I founf the middle seat in the Superb not that great, certainly 2 child seats and a booster/normal human were more of a struggle in the 2016 model when compared to the XC60, also the transmission tunnel in the superb is odd when compared to the Lolvo.

If economy is your thing, get the FWD D4 XC60.

That is strange, from the figures I've found the Superb should be 15cm wider in the rear.

I recently looked at alternatives to our 2017 Galaxy, wanting three separate, isofix rear seats and a decent engine (current Galaxy has the 240bhp Ecoboost).

Looked at the 2019 S-Max, Kodiaq, 5 series Touring, Disco, Volvo V90 & XC90 and Toureg (folks have the V6 TDI and it's lovely, albeit the middle rear seat isn't isofix).

Ended up just extending the lease on our Galaxy for another two years, which should give our oldest two time to grow out of their Isofix car seats and need something a little less bulky...

S-Max with Ecoboost would be my recommendation.
