The West only likes money, high ideals of global peace have long since vanished into the mud, so ultra-rich Saudi's, Qatari's, Omani's, Emirati's and so forth get to decide the West's foreign policy for it.

They can commit infinite crimes (kidnapping people, murdering the help, running people over, whisking folks citizens away after crimes, money laundering, corruption, funding terrorism) and it simply doesn't matter, they won't be punished for it.

I croak internally when ever I see the Queen waltz around with one of the Al-Sauds while they rinse us of our dignity on a daily basis.

there is an undeclared war down here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu_WqHh2zvs&feature=emb_title

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYmspOcsVJE&feature=emb_title turkish militia beating immigrants

CHurchill once said , "When will the lesson be learned? How many more dictators must be wooed, appeased - good God, given immense privileges - before we learn? You cannot reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth."

fits right in

Especially Britain, will never learn. Considering Dominic Raab recent trip to Turkey the day the latter started pushing the illegals to the Greece border.
History has the irony to repeat itself time and again and humanity doesn't learn.

Half a dozen Vickers Guns and there would be no more problem!

In 1963 in Yorkshire, a class of British Army armorers put one Vickers gun through probably the most strenuous test ever given to an individual gun. The base had a stockpile of approximately 5 million rounds of Mk VII ammunition which was no longer approved for military use. They took a newly rebuilt Vickers gun, and proceeded to fire the entire stock of ammo through it over the course of seven days. They worked in pairs, switching off at 30 minute intervals, with a third man shoveling away spent brass. The gun was fired in 250-round solid bursts, and the worn out barrels were changed every hour and a half. At the end of the five million rounds, the gun was taken back into the shop for inspection. It was found to be within service spec in every dimension.

Why isn't Greece just opening fire on the Turkish army?

The ridicule that Turkish made military vehicle couldn't drop a fence, was a great victory on itself. :D
Now ofc if it had tried to ram it and cross the border, there would be a huge hole in the area and many burned bodies.

To Greece opening hostilities that way, means losing the information war. Already we know that we are alone given EU & NATO governments actions and rhetoric (including UK). However that doesn't mean when time comes we wouldn't respond in kind nor we won't be the ones doing the first strike.

Also war between two NATO countries means the complete dismantling of the organization.

@Panos I think that you have the right of it. Whilst you can maintain a moral high ground you cannot really be criticised. To open a crossing under duress will lead to much greater hardship for many more people. The EU should be more supportive vocally and kick back against Erdogan whose main aim is to destabilise them.

We shall see what's happening on the meeting between Erdogan and EU tomorrow. Germany is the one cornered after the EU FM meeting on Thursday and EU IM on Wednesday, clearly not interested about EU but her own companies in Turkey alienating even her allies. That has opened the Pandora's box in German politics also especially those who want Merkel replaced asap and not wait for April.

At least a good outcome from all this, is that neither an APC nor 100 odd fellows can open a gap on the same section of the fence.

(today's video).

It has given a bit, but it would be repaired as always. :)
