Hi all,

What is the ideal machine for around a £1000 budget. It doesn't need Mouse and Keyboard, but would like 1440p if possible. Already have a 1080p screen if it's a big impact on quality, so maybe an alternate selection, one for 1440p and one for 1080p please?

Any help would be appreciated, it's been a long time since I've looked at PC parts!

For 1440p, yes. For 1080p, no.

Thank you.

For 1440p you're going to struggle to get everything for 1k. I'd say 1k would get you just the PC of pushing 1440p comfortably.

Maybe buy the PC and start saving for the monitor?

Best I can do:

If you shop around for the CPU you should be able to get it cheaper elsewhere, you could also consider dropping down to an AMD 2600 which can be had for around £90-100, bringing your total to roughly £1037.

If you go for the 2600 you could shave another £10 off by getting an Asrock B450 Pro 4.

If you're happy to go second hand you could get the CPU for less, probably get some better RAM for around £50.

You'll need to shop elsewhere for the monitor anyway.
