Lower FPS then inferior Systems

Ever since having this PC it has ran most games fairly well... however i get lower fps then all my mates who mostly have inferior systems... trying to play COD Warzone at the moment on mostly low graphics and getting around 70-80 fps... my friends are getting around 120-130... what could be the reason? temperatures seem fine at around 50-60, I also get lower FPS on Starcraft 2 which starts to stutter late game... any ideas what is wrong? or is it me having a higher spec monitor? let alone two of them? dont get me wrong COD is running fine but I want the FPS i should have.

i'd say its down to the monitor's, you have the same model as me, trust me running high fps at 1440p is pretty hard to do.
what spec monitors do your friends have, if they are running 1080p screens the fps difference would explain why you are lower.

I've got a overclocked 3900x and a heavily overclocked 2080ti and i can just max out 144fps @1440p in most titles but I'm ragging my card to the limit to do so (my gpu clock is 2085mhz and ram at 8100mhz)

try a game but reduce the res down to 1080p and see what the fps is like

ok so i tried switching COD to 1280x720 in game settings and my FPS was at around 170 so am guessing it is fine? and yes they have inferior monitors by far.... also I was wondering how to improve my PC next? replace CPU? or overclock it? possibly clock the GPU also or what?

a quick boost to fps would be a gpu overclock, keep increasing the core by around 25-30mhz at a time until you get instability, at that point back off around 50mhz and call it a day on the core, next do the same with the ram but instead of 25-30mhz increments you can set 50-100mhz per step with the ram until the card isn't stable, as with the core back down around 100-150mhz and call it a day.

(i forgot to mention run a graphically demanding program to test if the oc is stable every few steps you increase, keep an eye out for artifacting or glitching, any point you see this stop and call it a day)

the most popular gpu overclocking tool is msi afterburner, its what i use as evga precision x wont apply any profiles at start up for me.

if you want more performance you'd need to turn to cpu overclocking and unfortunately i don't have experience with 2011/2066 systems anymore, i did before i made the switch to amd, i'm sure ppl on the forums would chip in and help if you wanted to see what your chip could hit, but i know 2011/2066 cpus do run warm at stock and can be a supernova's under overclocking conditions so cooling is paramount.

just looked online you have the hof 1080 which is a bloody fast card to begin with XD, found a overclocking page for you to reference too, but as ever you milege may vary with how far you can go, could be more, flip site could be a potato. take a look

You may get some benefit from overclocking your cpu.
The 5820k should do 4ghz easily with air cooling.

CPU overclocking might give you lower minimum fps

I prefer to play most games at lower settings at 1440p, but for competitive shooters 1080p may be the better option.

I have a gtx 1070ti with a 1440p 144hz monitor and this is exactly what I've been doing with apex legends. I did consider getting an RTX 2070 but decided instead to hold out for the 3070 as the performance jump didn't seem worth it for the price.

Hmm I don't know if I can help but I do have exactly the same processor, 32gb of ram and a 980ti.
I get about 90fps in warzone on medium settings at 1440p.
