Hi all, my PC currently has 4GB and I want to add to that as it's lagging a bit. I haven't a clue and need some help as to which RAM to buy (DDR3 I presume). Nothing expensive either.

Specification
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3240T CPU @ 2.90GHz

What other info do I need? Can I add 8GB to it?

Thanks
David

You could add an 8GB set to it for a total of 12, but how much that will help I don't know.

Your best bet would be to ask if anyone has any spare DDR3 sat around in the Members Market section of the forum.

What exactly are you doing that's causing the PC to lag? Depending on that you might benefit more from an SSD (assuming you're on an old HDD) and a fresh installation of Windows.

Thanks for your prompt response. I'll definitely look into a SSD. However in the meantime, would the following be suitable for my PC? Can you tell I haven't a clue? lol

Crucial CT102464BD160B 8 GB (DDR3L, 1600 MT/s, PC3L-12800, DIMM, 240-Pin) Memory

Just to be clear, are you running a desktop or a laptop?

If a desktop it should be fine, but I'd avoid spending much money on it and I'd focus on the second hand market were I you.

As I stated, put a request in for some DDR3 in the Members Market/Wanted section of the forum.

Thanks @Quartz

Just opened it up and the motherboard is an ASUS n13219. There are two slots, one of which is housing a 4GB stick of ADATA 4GB 1RX8 PC3L-12800U0-11 RAM

What is the max capacity of RAM I could go to?
