Motherboard for a 6700k and memory help

Hey,

I am looking for a motherboard that can take a 1151 i7 6700k processor,

I have 2400mhz DDR Corsair Memory too i have seen a few motherboards but they dont seem to take the 2400mhz memory will this just clock down to what the motherboard can take?

Z170 and Z270 are your best options if you want to overclock the CPU. 2133 is the max speed spect by Intel but if you go into the bios and set XMP it should run at 2400 with no problems.

so if i purchased one that has memory speeds lower the 2400mhz it will still work?

Setting memory speed above 2133 with that CPU will only work on a Z board. Not H or B. So Z170 or Z270.

Good luck finding a Z170. Z270 are also getting difficult to find.
I just bought a second hand Z170 Maximus VIII Ranger, as the choice new was poor, and expensive.
