Hi. My daughter will be four at the end of June.

with the current situation. Don’t ideal to take her out ‘at the moment’ to a bike shop to get measured etc

Any ideas on ‘how’ to ideally measure her so I can then look on line for suitable bicycles.

she has had a scooter for a while. So ideally would not like to go the stabiliser route. As good be a step backwards ?

thanks

Got my son this bike after looking at lots of reviews https://www.plushhillcycles.co.uk/1...hN5UJBSouil2kA87pQ0NenrW0zMlN-nxoCtwAQAvD_BwE ( p.s i didnt buy from there, was just the first link i found )

We also had a balance bike, but what i found was best, was just taking the pedals off his new bike and using it as a balance bike for a few weeks.

After putting the pedals back on, it only took 2-3 hours to get him riding (fairly confidently)

We bought our eldest an Isla Bike when he was 2:

Really impressed with it, super lightweight and well made.

We'll probably get him another now he's bigger, tbh he'd probably already have some sort of pedal bike if it wasn't for lockdown, I should get on it:

The Cnoc can have the pedals removed to use as a balance bike and is probably what we'll end up buying. They have a good size chart thing with advice on how to measure, even if you don't go with them it's worth a look.

As per a lot of advice above. I would start with a balance bike or a lightweight first bike (Frog, Isla, etc) with pedals removed. Standover height (inside leg) will dictate what she's ready for.

Whatever you do don't buy something cheap and heavy (lots of wooden balance bikes around) because they will just find it difficult and probably give up.

My eldest went from a balance bike (Specialized Hotwalk) straight onto his first pedal bike (Frog 43) within about 20 minutes and no stabilisers in sight.
