Is 3 months notice common?

3 months is very normal. I've seen it based on achieving a certain seniority in a company, or simply passing a financial threshold in salary (was a smaller company).

3 months for us at the factory I work at for the non shop floor staff, well mostly as there are a few regraded roles that are now 1 month notice. It's a good thing at the moment as we are facing redundancies and at least most of us will get the 3 months notice and not have to work it.

Employers are usually reasonable nowadays as its a recognised standard now as in if you go for a role and have 3 months notice they will usually still wait the 3 months but as others have said if you speak to your current hr they may be lenient and reduce. GL in your new role.

I was on 3 months at a previous job, not a specialised skill but mainly for legacy knoweldge, however, when I left I simply asked if I could leave earlier and it was fine.

Initially was on one month but increased to 3 months based on length of employment with the current employer. Quite common I think.

Same here. Although I asked for a little more money to agree to a 3 month notice. So got a raise out of it!
