High pitched bios whine and random restarts

Had this rig a long time and started to get a high pitched whine on boot and in bios that goes once in windows. bios and all drivers upto date and help would be grateful. Spec as per sig, has baffled me somewhat, even dropped it back to stock. temps seem fine given my cooling but still get the whine and random shutdowns. Hope this is the right place to post, been a while

Sounds like a bulging capacitor.

Do you have a spare Power Supply to test with?

Will have a look if I have a spare psu, moved a recently and have boxes of pc parts. I suspect it's PSU based and have tried moving GPU power cables to GPU 2 on the PSU with some success. Thanks for the reply will keep monitoring and seeing if the issue persists.

Source is likely either CPU VRM, GPU VRM, or PSU.
At least drop CPU to stock if you're also having random shut downs.
If that helps to that changes anything then culprit is possibly CPU VRM which is starting to wear down.
