Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade or more accurately replace my 2600k / 970 build. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It would just need to be the base unit, no peripherals (aside from a screen) are needed.

I will be using the PC for a bit of everything including gaming.

I don't need the following:
  • GPU
  • Case
  • Storage drives
  • Sound card
  • OS
I am after:
  • Minimum 1tb NVME
  • Wifi (either card or built in motherboard)
  • 27" 4k screen
  • Cool & quiet
  • Fits into a Fractal R3

I've been told the 3900X along with the Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler is something to consider so ideally I'd like that in the build as well.

Thanks for the help!

So this is what I've come up with but it's way over budget. Any help would be great :)

  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor
  • Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4
  • Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO, AMD X570, AM4, DDR4, PCIe 4.0, Dual M.2, 2-Way SLi/CrossFire, Intel GbE, USB 3.2 Gen2 A+C, ATX
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB 3200MHz 2x8GB
  • Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-V7S1T0)
  • LEADEX III 650W 80 PLUS GOLD MODULAR POWER SUPPLY - BLACK
  • Dell U2720Q 27.0" 3840x2160 60 Hz Monitor
  • Gigabyte Combo Intel 11ac and Bluetooth V5 PCIe Wireless Network Card

I'd change in this order:

- samsung NVMe to another brand
- x570 to b450 (tomahawk max maybe) unless you really need PCIe 4, then wait for b550
- CPU cooler to stock cooler
- 3900x to 3700x
