Gsync to no sync experiences

I recently got a 1440p monitor and my GTX1080 can't keep a steady 144fps in more demanding games. Switching g sync on has been like night and day - still feels very smooth when it drops below 100 whereas stutter becomes very noticeable with it off.

I've been using it for so long now I can't remember what life was like before.
I need to get a new gpu (which will be a place holder until Ampere is out and I'll swap it next year if need be once prices drop a touch) and the 5700xt and 2060 supers are about the same price.
2060 super keeps me in gsync, 5700xt has higher performance.
Which ever card I get will end up in the second pc which is on a freesync monitor so trying to justify stepping out of g sync for a bit really.
Seems like I should stick with it. Second pc isn't used for fps or anything, mainly sims etc where adaptive sync isn't really needed I don't think

Why don't you just turn gsync off and try it?
Because that would be far to smart... This is awkward
1440p, 144hz but look for frame rate more than quality in shooters
