If you ever get the "unable to save" error, alt tab out of the game and right click on GTA in the task bar and click close. You'll notice it won't immedately end the process. Alt tab back in the game and you'll see a prompt appear asking if you want to leave GTA online. At this prompt hit esc to cancel and it should then trigger a save. Works every time for me.
On another note, how many here are still actively playing GTA Online ? I'm currently playing it solo. I did all the heists on Xbox right up the Grand Pacific. I've recently moved to PC and wouldn't mind getting a regular group together to go through all the heists including the newer ones like the Casino heist. Hit me up on social club if you fancy it. Name on social club is Fr0dderz
Am I missing something on GTA V
The single player game is great, but I can't see the appeal of GTA Online. I've only played it for maybe an hour tops and nearly all of that has been stuck either on loading screens or lobby screens.
It also seems totally lacking in any sort of direction. I've got the criminal enterprise pack which I seem to be able to access. The thing is nearly everything is locked off "until person X calls" with no direction of how I get them to call. Where do I need to go, what do I need to do. The whole thing just seems aimless. I've got a map with lots of icons on it but no idea why I should try one thing over another.
Thing is with GTA online, it's a massive sandbox. It's completely different to the story based single player that has a set laid out campain. There are various forks in the paths you can choose, but ultimately it's very much on rails. GTA online is a completely different game.
When it first launched all those years ago, the game was solely about running missions for named contacts, or doing races. Now, the focus of the game has shifted towards the criminal enterprise. Hence why they're giving out the criminal enterprise starter pack for free all over the place. The game talks you through using your phone to find the places where you can buy real estate, and you can pickup the ones in the starter pack for free. Set the businesses up, and start making money. Once you've got that going this is where the real depth comes in. Do you upgrade your existing business to produce your counterfit cash quicker, or do you expand into the coke business. Or How about the nightclub business .. or gun running , or car stealing ,or running goods for import and export. Then you can start looking at how you make running those businesses easier, do you want the Master Command Terminal in an arcade where you can look at all your enterprises in one place ? do you want a mobile operations center ? etc.. the list goes on.
