Well you did go full crazy and have a second one! How's things going with #2 and how is Rory? Proud big brother or really doesn't care/want to get involved?

We're really going through the troublesome two's at the moment but thankfully they seem to be related to hunger/tiredness so at least we can put some reasoning behind them (and work around them a little). Still pretty grim (feel so helpless) when they happen!

While we're talking training and health I've just brain dumped this here... As I've had quite a reduction in both since the weather changed. We're going through some interrupted sleep, most nights having a wake up between 1-3am and then again something at around 5am. He settles down again but with the later one we really don't and by 6.15am (at the latest) he (& us) are fully awake. His bedtime at 7.30/8pm he's sleeping enough, dropped his afternoon nap months ago and doesnt seem tired until even meal times (6pm) so about right. But our bedtime at 10.30/11 with the wakes and interruptions is slowly having more of an affect on us.

All going great to be honest pal. We've lucked out again with this one he's as good as Rory was but minus the reflux. so can't complain!

Rory loves him to pieces. Thinks he is king **** because he's a big brother :p

Terrible two's here also. Every single thing is a fight/compromise/argument. No matter how trivial or part of routine/normality it is, he will decide he wants to have a drama about it. He's back to childminder as of Wednesday next week for 2 days a week and whilst I love having so much time with him I am genuinely looking forward to it. I'll actually get some work done (working from home full time) and he will get to socialise and play with his mates which will keep his brain and body going rather than being stuck inside with mum and dad all day.

We're 8-9pm for bedtime too but he will sleep right through until 8am the next day religiously.

Bloody PowerTap P1s have stopped working again. This happened earlier in the year, I sent them in for repair and they came back working fine. I asked them how they fixed the issue and they said “there wasn’t one, they were working fine”. Just started up again.

I’d buy a P2M if I didn’t need pedals (weird crank on my TT bike), but all pedal powermeters seem flawed in some way.

Thighs are looking great! I'm doing great cycling wise (speed and climbs), think I just need to find something to balance out the 1000 calories rides.

That's certainy an area I have no problem in :D Regulary hitting 1200 for an evening 90 minute session of late.

Insurance look like they're paying out for bike, glasses, helmet and bib shorts after my fall the other week. Now the decision on what bike to get. Contemplating just pocketing the cash for now and waiting out until later in the year once demand isn't so extreme/new bikes are released.

Bike 2 work is also starting up next week so contemplating just getting something with that. But just no idea what. Think the dream would be system six but if not a carbon road with discs as all my wheels would then fit it, not full aero but not full on Endurance, Emonda/tarmac/ultimate style thing with di2.

Can anyone recommend a waterproof jacket? Would like something I could use in all 4 seasons if possible, so perhaps a light shell would be best so I can layer it over whatever jersey I wear. Waterproof rather than shower proof, breathable (a must!) and say, less than £100.

Sportful and DHB ranges seem to have a few different options. I’m 5ft 10” and 79kg for sizing purposes. Cheers.

Yep. I am almost resigned to the fact my £600 vector 3 pedals are going to go in the bin. It's depressing.
Like you I want pedal based but I'm not spending money on what is out there currently as they're all ****.

I'd go Quarq or P2M myself but I don't have £1200 to buy for my race and TT bikes. Then I wouldn't have power all winter either on the winter bike. So yeah, £1200 for what, 4 months? of power data outside on those bikes in this silly weather country? It's silly.

So frustrating, and not uncommon unfortunately from what I hear of these 2. The quarq I've got on my cx bike does seem so rock solid, but unsure on the longevity of them.

I think I must have got pretty lucky, I've got a set of original vectors still going, they've been upgraded to 2 a few years back and I did get another set under bike2work when the vector 2 system was released and apart from a broken pod a couple of times when it's caught the chain they've never had to go back to the manufacturer luckily. I won't lie I've had some frustrating times with them but they've resolved themselves within an hour or so. I've definitely got my money out of them.

I have an Endura FS260 Pro Race Cape... But I got it after it rained... So have never had to wear it. Fit is really good and slim, packs down tiny and the cuffs are tight, too...

I can't remember the size, however, but their sizing is pretty good.

It was £46 when purchased...

Thought I was a good boy doing two crow roads the other day.

23 times up it :o

Felt good today and left the group of 4 I was with over a drag, 6 miles solo at 22mph with them chasing the usual way people do. Happy with that all the same considering the wind and rain.

Managed to fit in a few short climbs at 450w and a few town sign sprints to do the training my mate had been set.

I'm impressed with his commitment to repeat the same section 23 times and for 5 hours!

Found today's cycle tough, I'm sure I'm not replenishing my calories appropriately but my body has woken to it as I can't stop eating now. Also once again the car drivers are insufferable and more of them out there. Multiple dangerous overtakes or attempts and honking horns.

P2M aren’t that expensive if you can fit to your existing cranks. Buy once cry once! The Type S were going for ~£400 with rings when I bought mine.

If it helps I’ve had these and they are great https://www.powermetershop.de/en/as...tJeTQwB86sI6ro7VXerxXctZ3kNc_QUhoCUR0QAvD_BwE

First ride out in 3 years and oh my. This was hard. I had to bail and cut it down to 11miles as my legs were burning big time.

Guess I should expect that after 3 years off the bike and will get back into it again.

Bum hurts for sure :D but was fun to get out even if it was short.

The best bit of starting from scratch is watching your PR tumble in. You'll be chasing down the person in front in no time.

It turns out my early bail out yesterday might have saved me and my bike some damage as the small group I was with ended up breaking social distancing and colliding into each other a few miles after I departed. 2 broken bikes and one trip to A and E for some stitches.

So many pricks out there today.

Worst one was a proper back road, narrow due a bridge and because people park to walk dogs. Friend of my Mrs couldn't move in anymore due to craters at the edge of the road.

I tend to sit slightly to the right of the women when I'm out, makes cars have to give a bit more room as they are nervous.

I had to bail to the left and a other chap who was behind had to get off his bike.

I'm on that road all the time and pull in for drivers and wave when people are decent.

Memorable plate so he'll be in my black book for a while.

Have you considered the Assioma pedals? I went for them after much looking and they've been faultless to date (only 6 months though!). I sourced from CyclePowerMeters.com and when I spoke to them before buying they said...

CPM said:
The Assioma has been the most reliable product we have sold bar none.

I notice CPM are quoting a 30 day lead though - I guess that's because, AFAIK, they are made in Italy.

Try leaving batteries out for a good few hours - I think that forces them into a full reboot. Mine played up like that - went off for repair and they just said there was "booting errors" which they cleared and they sent them back - sure enough no further bother. Ironically though that pee'd me off enough to sell them - I'm now using Favero pedals - flawless.
