Hi,

Bit of a long shot but I have around £800, more or less, for a gaming spec.

It'll need:

  • OS
  • Monitor
  • Wifi card

Reckon it's achievable for that sort of budget?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

An extra £50 or so would get you a 144hz monitor which is a game changer if you play fps or anything fast paced. Could save £30 and get a 3300x but you lose two cores and four threads so likely to need upgrading sooner than a 3600

Edit: fixed

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £812.99 (includes shipping: £18.12)

So I'm wondering if we can just get away with a 500gb SSD for now instead of including any sort of mechanical storage. I think I probably could...

You won't be able to have many games installed at a time but adding additional storage later is very easy

The build above is a solid one for the cash and I don't think I could improve on it to make enough of a difference. :)

The only thing I can think of is possibly buying an OS key from a reputable seller, and then putting that £100 or so saved towards a 1440p screen or something entirely different like more storage capacity/faster GPU?
