I agree with "Random Mat " I'm been looking for a build for a new computer and some places are cheaper and others more expensive but service from OCUK is good so I stick with who I know.

Just add that I haven't for a long time bought everything from one store, good service isn't exclusive to overclockers. Just logical to keep an open mind and shop around, prior research is key to most decisions.

I don't have the tech kno-how to pick and build so rely on pre-built value for money systems. Unfortunately that means OcUK is out due to the higher costs compared to other specialist retailers.

Over the last few years i have purchased 3 laptops, 2 desktops and a gaming rig (+ all peripherals etc). On each occasion I contacted OcUK as they do seem to have great customer service and warranty and asked if they offer any discount - that'll be a no.

OcUK aren't struggling, so their business model works, but many other retailers offer:

  • Quidco/Topcashback
  • Military discount
  • NHS discount
  • Student discount
  • Blue Light discount
Free delivery for forum members just doesn't compare anymore.

I had something turn up from OcUK yesterday, just a ssd bracket, 60p cheaper than amazon and a packet of Haribo thrown in. Usually I shop around, but good customer service can count for something too.
Still remember the good old days of 'This week only' deals.

I've found some stuff more expensive over the years but generally used Overclockers for the free delivery and great service, unless the price was way too much.

Other times the offers here are so good they are cheaper by a good margin, the recent LG monitor deal for instance.

I just bought a monitor, £20 cheaper than anywhere else but the delivery charge more or less wiped out the saving.
Still cheaper though.
I do notice its under new ownership though and being a German company the Dollar, EU and Pound currencies will all take it's toll on margin, exchange rates will have a lot to do with it.

True, but my 3900X came from Caseking for £405. Too bad it is £381 now from a popular sales site.
