The fine is another joke, said it for years the fines they had out are pathetic it's pocket change to big clubs.

UEFA barely had any respect from any one but this is another nail in there coffin for how useless they are.

should have had enough information to ensure CAS couldn't of over turned anything.

This could be the beginning of the end for UEFA. There has to be some sort of FFP or clubs could just go wild. FFP is finished...it might just be that this sparks the whole super league back up again.

Sounds like City basically did a good enough job of not taking the absolute ****, covering their tracks and not cooperating with the UEFA investigation to make it easy for CAS to overturn it.

Either UEFA will amend their rules or they will drop FFP. I'm amazed there isn't a clause in there that basically says "if we decide that you have wilfully broken the rules we are free to punish you how we see fit". Why is it a right that any club gets to play in the CL. You should be able to ban a club from your competition if you decide they have broken the rules.

So basically CAS found them guilty of not cooperating with UEFA's investigation however the charges around actually cheating FFP were dismissed as there's a 5 year time limit on them and these charges relate to things 6-8 years ago.

I think the 5 year limit is a UEFA rule as well. Its an utter joke that City have basically stalled and got in the way of the investigation and that resulted in their escape from punishment but it sounds like it perhaps was the "right" decision from CAS based on what they were looking at.

Lets be honest, how often do massively rich companies actually get punished for being utter dicks. Almost never. And if they are punished, its never to an extent that would make them consider not doing it in future.

Don't care the whole ruling is a farce. Either have a proper cap on spending on wages and transfers or let anyone that can afford it spend it. Otherwise there's no way for any team to ever break into the top 4 consistently no matter who owns them. FFP just tried to maintain the status quo of elite.

Hopefully this will see the whole sham scrapped.

FFP tried to stop the massive inflation caused by super rich clubs not giving a **** about how much players cost or how much their wage bill was.

Liverpool have managed to win the PL hardly spending a thing. Leicester won the PL recently. We have a fight for the European places this season with potentially 8 clubs in the running. FFP is a good thing because football is becoming ridiculous with the money involved.

What do you think is the cause for the huge rise in the cost of players and wages over the past 10/15 years?

FFP come about because those established super clubs (United, Chelsea, Madrid, Barca etc) at the time didn't want teams like City and PSG who are effectively state owned taking over their market.
