Just been through an rma with Gigabyte. Fair enough you post at your own cost but they even wanted me to pay for return postage. Instead I arranged a courier to collect. Can't say I'm impressed.
18 months. SSD died.sounds poor How old was it
I've recently migrated from Gigabyte to MSI with motherboard and graphics cards. The torx fan is brilliant.I've read poor things about Gigabyte RMA, and good things about MSI and Asus.
From what I've seen on here, Asus is the worst of the lot for fobbing people off, sending back broken items, etc.I've read poor things about Gigabyte RMA, and good things about MSI and Asus.
Was everything as usual, a defect, you purchased from a decent retailer, yadayada?18 months. SSD died.

I doubt it's standard practice. I've rma'd many things in the past and this is the first time I've been asked to pay for postage both ways. They might as well say the warranty does not cover you because you might have damaged it.Pretty standard practice, to be fair. Why should they pay postage for an item that YOU might have damaged My company does the same, though we do fully refund ANY and ALL costs incurred if the failure is due to a defect rather than mis-use
Only 12 months warranty with retailer, remainder with Gigabyte.why not go through retailer?

Whoever you buy the goods from in the first year should deal with any faults. IN regards to warranty support after that we only ask for the fee to cover the costs of shipping the goods back.
