On the road....
Finally finished, new suspension on, geo done and corner weighed. Came in at 1154kg which is over 200kg lighter than my previous M3 track car and over 400kg lighter than OEM.

@tsinc80697 that is getting followed, mega top work!

That’s epic!

Thanks :) Can't wait to get it out on track at Donington in a couple weeks. The shakedown at Oulton a couple of weeks ago was hampered by a dodgy oil temp sensor so I wasn't able to get many laps in. Fitted an additional AIM temp sensor before the oil cooler as well as the OEM temp sensor in the sump to hopefully confirm it's the OEM sensor that is dodgy and not a cooling issue.

That should fly mate, think I had mine down to 1350kg with full tank of fuel or maybe a bit less cannot remember and it was proper rapid, your close to a solid 200kg less so it will be mighty fast.

What power you running, still NA or got big power?

It was mapped a few weeks ago and made 365hp but the ambient temperature was a nightmare as it was when the weather was near 20c. It's a rebuilt engine running stock internals and a GTR style intake. It needs a decent dyno cell to be mapped really as it needs much more air than a single fan can push in.

Just back from BMW from taking the E60 M5 in for some recall work and a health check.

Health check report was all green except for:
- Diff leak, requires inspection: £118 (Shall do myself)
- OSR & NSR trailing arm camber bush perished and needs replacing: £1200 both sides.

The OSR & NSR bush probably explains the creaking from rear I get sometimes, does anyone here know if that is a total new rear arm either side and hence the price or is it simply a change of bushing job.
What I will note is rear tyre wear is even, BMW health report shows 4.4mm across the whole tyre at both rears.

Contacted a couple Specialist to quote on above, one getting back to me and one has suggested BMW sometimes BS to get work, so they will give it a free look over for me on Saturday.

BMW once told me that all of my brake lines on my X5 needed replacing as they were rusted, I think the cost was over £1000. Another garage had a look and just slapped some grease on saying that's all they need as it's a bit of surface rust.

I wouldn't trust BMW near my X5 unless it's for warranty work, and even then it's a rigmarole.

Pretty much what specialist was saying, there is certainly something not quite right in the rear as can hear it from time to time, can have a good proper look at weekend. Just wondering if any previous E60 owners had come across it.

That's a serious bit of kit, dare I ask how much that cost? Did someone else build it for you?

Thanks! Well it was only meant to go for the garage for a quick spanner check and escalated rather quickly

A garage in Skipton called ADT (http://adtmotorsport.co.uk/) built it. Dan who runs it built his own endurance E46 M3 and won a few races with it. He built my last engine so it was an easy decision on who to use for this build. He's worked on quite a lot of track cars now so well versed on them.

Cost wise, it's £35-£40k. 25% of that was non-essential (yeah I can say a track car is essential :D) things like 2 new sets of wheels, Vbox HD (data logger), AIM MXG (digital dash) & new suspension.

Well, my E90 has finally thrown up a bill. Brake and TC warning lights came on. ABS pump needs replacement/refurb...it's got a few other things that need doing at some point (wheel bearings, service, new tyres). Probably 2k worth in the next couple of months including insurance.

Never wanted a saloon anyway (bought it in a hurry to start new job), I think I'm just going to scrap/sell it. Doesn't make sense running two cars when we're both WFH anyway, so looks like it's sharing the Seat Ibiza for me for a while :(

@tsinc80697 I think I need a shower! Get some track day videos up asap

I took it out on track a couple of weeks ago but didn't realise the Vbox microphone wasn't plugged in  But if you want to see a silent lap, where you can make your own vroom vroom noises I've uploaded the quickest lap of the day.

It was only a shakedown so wasn't pushing much (only did 15-20 laps al day) as it turns out I had a dodgy oil temp sensor and I was using the wrong Vbox scene, bloody km/h :D

I ordered an X3M Competition today for delivery in September.

I'm super excited but keep changing my mind on the colour as there aren't many X3M's in the showrooms to view!

Currently it's Sapphire Black however Donington Grey is growing on me - has anyone seen it in the flesh?
