Well seeing as no replies to your post, then should stay in here :)

Probably won't buy it just yet, as it's rather expensive. Nearly £34 for the Silver

So if i bought the gold version over steam, i could download CS: source, and they would send me all the merchandise?

Than HL2 later on?

Basically, you'll buy the stuff from steam, and you'll be able to DL HL2 (locked) and CS:Source. Then, once HL2 is out, the content will be then unlocked, allowing you to play the game.

What about if you buy the Gold version? All that extra stuff?

Well, you won't be able to DL the following :)

-- Half-Life Collector's box
-- Half-Life 2 hat
-- Half-Life 2 postcard
-- Half-Life 2 stickers

I'm thinking that it could be for US only the gold, but probably wrong, as they'll likely have euro distributors too.

I'd think so, but you'd have to buy the game like the good old days in a large cardboard box. Probably a steam promotion thing anyway, as they'll want a lot of people to pay over steam to get people using it.

I'd expect it to be more expensive than the exchange conversion works out at. I'd be surprised if it went at £30 for the basic game. I reckon we're talking £50-60+ for the kitchen sink hoo ha.
