I saw that Gold has hit a record high: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53660052

My parents bought me a gold chain on my 21st, which I believe is only 9 carrot. I always thought it was a bit chavvy and stopped wearing it about 10 years ago and it's just been sitting in a draw....doesn't really have sentimental value either.

Might as well cash it in, where would be the best place to do so?

It's 27grams so should be worth about £500

If you actually are needing the money for something then sell it. The price, as you say has never been better.

If you are selling it for the sake of it then i guess you could speculate further?

Its only 400 quid either way. if it went up 10% more it would be 440.. no big deal...

without being morbid...

if you don't need the cash, once your parents pass away, you may find more sentimental value in it. Obvs up to you :)
