I have had the option of a restart to upgrade for a while now. I don't feel comfortable upgrading and would like to refuse the update, can I. Or is their a deferral for a long time available.
Could you talk me through the procedure if I can. Thanks

You can apply a local policy to defer. Start > Run > gpedit.msc

Computer configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Windows Update for Business > Select when Preview Builds and Feature Updates are Received. Should work

If it's Win 10 Home, I didn't think the gpedit.msc functionality was available?! I'm sure it wasn't in the past. Regardless, even on 10 Pro I've not been able to find a way of stopping an update once it's already installed and at the stage of prompting for a restart, only halting it before the initial download stage starts. At the post-installation stage, short of some gritty method I'm unaware of, there isn't anything official I can think of you being able to do.
