Hello all,

At the start of lockdown, I put together the following components for my new PC build.

Case: Be Quiet! Pure Base 500 White Tempered Glass Mid Tower PC Gaming Case

Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE

Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X

GPU: Aorus Radeon RX 5700 XT

RAM: Team Group 8Pack Edition 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz

SSD:
1. Seagate Firecuda 520 500GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2
2. Samsung 860 Evo 1TB Sata 2.5 inch

PSU: be quiet! Straight Power 11 650W 80 Plus Gold Modular Power Supply

Monitor: AOC AGON AG271QX 27" 2560x1440 TN 144Hz FREESYNC 1ms Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor

The aim was to use it for working from home, editing gopro videos and occasional gaming.

The build went fine but each time i played a game for more than half hour or so the computer restarted with a black screen and no error. I have since returned the graphics card and had a full refund as it could not be repaired by the manufacturer in time.

I am now looking for an alternative to the Aorus rx5700xt, but it keeps coming up in google searches as one of the best recommended for the money.

Could anyone suggest another alternative ideally not costing more than £500.

Thanks in advance,

Warren

Thanks for the replies gents,

Im struggling to find the best out of a bunch of these 2070 supers, some with 2 fans and some with 3 fans.

Which one should I look for specifically if you dont mind,

Thanks

New NVidia and AMDs card are rumoured to launch September. You might have just got a bad card, getting another might not mean u have the same issues. The 5700XT might get reduced within the next 4-6 weeks. So you could spend £100 for the likes of an RX580 as a stop gap and decided once new cards are out.
