Custom Exhaust

Looking for recommendations for somewhere to take my car for a custom SS exhaust.
Car is Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI 2014 (Twin exit)

I am based in East Midlands.
Have quotes so far from
JP Exhausts in Congleton (most expensive)
John Ashley Walsall (recommended completely removing rear silencers which sounds odd to me)
K'Ford Tyres in Kingswinford (doesn't do downpipes/ sports cat, so would probably work out more expensive to buy a scorpion/Miltek etc and have them fit it for me)

Also MIJ in Walsall but heard some bad things about the quality of work down there.

Based in Leeds, so might be a bit of a trek

I've had a JP Exhaust on my highly modified Fiesta XR2. Was exactly what I wanted and asked for, exactly the DB I wanted as well (for track days).

I was going to recommend MIJ, as I've only heard good things and they're a common recommendation on Volvo forums.

are you running stage 2 software? if not then sports cat or decat will likely throw a check engine light. i'm waiting to see if an o2 spacer sorts mine out or whether i will need to to move to stage 2

Have heard about this, car is booked for remapping in November and they will take it straight to stage 2 if I get the necessary mods done before I go.

I had a fully custom 3" exhaust made by Exhausts UK in Sheffield. They did a fantastic job squeezing the pipe over a very narrow gap above the rear axle. Quality of work was really top notch.

How have I never heard of JP exhausts before when I live in Congleton?

From the look of their website it looks like the reason for their cost is that they specialise in high end bespoke stuff. No offence, but they might be overkill for an Octavia!

tonybanks is a good shout. have had a few done no issues and price is always very good compared to others. MIJ i wouldnt recommend based from experience within my circle

Yeh thats the impression I got, although the price quoted wasn't miles away from anywhere else. They quoted me £750 for Cat Back and around £400 for sports cat/downpipe.
other places are quoting around £500 for a catback and same price for the downpipe/cat

Whatever you do, avoid ExhaustsUK in Sheffield, quoted me near a grand for a SS cat-back :rolleyes:

Called both, ExhaustsUK quoted me £840 cat back resonated and something like £790 non res

Tony Banks quoted £500, they are looking a good favourite at the moment. just a shame they are 2 hours away from me.

Used MIJ 3 times (2012, 2013 & 2015) and never had an issue, although they do have some very old bad reviews from wayyyy back before 2010 which internet searches still bring up.

Holy...! I paid about £425 for a custom 3" exhaust from the downpipe pack.

Booked in with Tony Banks in October(the earliest they could do it)
Initially when I asked that said it wouldn't be mandrel bent, but when he called back (after speaking to his octavia expert) said it would be mandrel bent.
£850 all in for full system including sports cat and downpipe
Car will be in there all day, so i just need to find a way to kill 8 hours in Leeds now.
