file transfer speed

transfering a video file from win 10 M.2 nve ssd drive to whs 2011 hard drive i get around 11MB/s does this sound right, i get lost with networking settings ?

Agree with above 2, if you were on a 1Gbps link, you should achieve well above the theoretical maximum of a 100Mbps link.

Thanks all explained it clearly to me,so if it’s all wired cat 6 do I just check the spec of the switch and Ethernet ports on the mb’s ?

Yes. Something on your data's journey from your PC to the server probably has only got a 100Mbit port or a shoddy cable. Check network cards in the machines, switches it passes through, maybe the router and I hope you're not using homeplugs because that'll be it right there if so. If the speeds aren't written on the devices then find the make and model and google the specs.

Side note: WHS2011 stopped receiving security updates early this year, you may want to look at doing something about that.
