I've always loved to Alfa Romeo 75, it's not exactly pretty but the 3 litre V6 with the veloce body kit looked great. The real thing is it was the last rear wheel drive car Alfa made on their own. It used a trans-axel design so engine at the front gearbox at the back. It's replacement used a fiat floor pan and was much more conventional.

I'm also fairly in love with various incarnations of the xj6/12, Saab 900 and various old Citroen's. About 40 years ago most car companies stopped developing cars mostly for their home market and started aiming their wares at a wider international, audience.

I'll be predictable and say a mk2 escort. I'm not a Ford guy in the slightest but there's just something about them. Got to be the same done-to-death rally spec that everyone builds them into.

In acme's chair.
Three votes for old Escorts. Yawn. So cliché and common that I just walk past them at car shows nowadays.

Classic Ford owners are a weird bunch. I get the impression they wish their cars were human so they could marry them. They're almost always divorcees because they spent all their time polishing the car instead of sitting in the house with the missus. :p

For me it would be a Mk2 Triumph Stag with the proper engine and fixed cooling system which you can buy these days. That would make it non original but at least it wouldn't keep breaking down. I had a ride in one years ago and thought it was a beautiful car. Very practical too.

Absolutely nothing special but for some reason I loved them as a kid in the 90s, so I'd go with Toyota MR2 Mk2, in T-Bar config.

A 1980's 911 Turbo or 944 Turbo.

But I'd settle for my 1994 Corrado VR6 if I had a little spare money to make it new again.
