Looking for build recommendations for a friend's son who has a budget of £850. Doesn't need keyboard, mouse or monitor. Looking for it to include a 1TB SSD and a windowed case with RGB fans

Cheers

Here's an Intel build, but a few things to note. A Ryzen 3600 is usually a good bet but right now at £199.99 from OcUK it's not priced that well. So instead I've specced Intel, since it's a pure gaming build and the 3600 isn't priced well. I've gone for a 500GB SSD as 1TB would eat too much into the rest of the budget. Got some RGB in there from the case and CPU cooler.

You can go either 2060 or 5600 XT at this price, I went with the Zotac 2060 as it's got a good 5 year warranty and in some cases it edges the 5600 XT.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £880.54 (includes shipping: £11.70)

AMD alternative, as LiE mentions you should shop about for the 3600 as it can be had £25 cheaper at least. Dunno what OcUK playing at with the price rise today again.

5600 XT and 2060 are very comparable, 50/50 in most games slightly better each other by a few FPS. But the Radeon card is £30 cheaper.

Managed to include 1TB SSD, much better quality and branded PSU with 10yr warranty as well.

Looks good thanks. Just checked with him and he'd prefer a Midi tower case so will probably swap the Aero One Mini Eclipse for the Kolink Observatory Lite ARGB. I will also change the motherboard for the full size ATX MSI B450 Tomahawk
