Black rocks / beach pebbles

I’m looking for some black pebbles to go in a glass container. I’ve had a look online and cant find much.

If anyone lives near a beach i’m happy to pay postage & cost of collecting some. Black rocks will also do but ideally pebbles as its for decorative purposes

Given that taking them from the beach is illegal (Costal Protection Act 1949), I doubt anyone is going to take you up on that offer!

Really, you can’t take rocks/pebbles/sand off the beach?

Will they run out or something?

edit - If it’s illegal, how does anyone / company have beach pebbles since 1949. Unless they are man made of course

My 8 year old lifted about 10kg of pebbles last week. Better shop her quick

They sell these in wilkonsons or most garden centres or any diy shop you cant have looked too hard.

Are they man made if sold in wilkos / garden centers? Otherwise how else do they get them legally

Companies can be granted a minerals extraction licence to remove rocks (same with sand).

Everybody speeds and it doesn't really hurt anyone

Even taking rocks/pebbles from rivers or mountains is technically illegal as they are the property of the land owner but it's not as terrible a thing to do and most landowners probably don't care if some rocks get taken
