But it not just slightly less as the 11GB 1080ti replacement should have 16GB or 20GB

This. The 10GB is a joke, the same as 3GB was a joke on 60 cards released a couple of years ago. There's no way on earth I'm shelling out the best part of a grand for 10GB of VRAM.

16GB or bust for me, it's too much money to be settling for less, the minute the ti's are out with the full fat VRAM plenty of people will regret not waiting.

1GB less then a GPU that got released close to 4 years ago

For me there no way i be buying a 10GB GPU after seeing MS FS 2020 is already using over 10GB of vram on my 2080ti and that not even at 4K

That is because the 80TI GPUs were at worst 6% less cores than the Titan/top tier. The RTX3080 has a 17% difference in cores. The true RTX2080TI replacement would be a RTX3080TI 11GB/12GB with close to the same core arrangement as the RTX3090. If the RTX3070TI 16GB already exists,Nvidia is just holding back on the RTX3080TI for now.

Until there is testing/facts its not worth arguing over. Usage doesnt mean it will gimp with a little less VRAM, remains to be seen. Would have been nice if they had 16gb though.

I think it just that it annoys me that if i want more then 10GB i would have to pay at lest £750 extra over the 3080 £650 price for the 3090
That a really crazy jump in price

Will likely be a 3080 but will be awaiting more info on stock etc and how good/bad CP2077 runs on my 2070 Super. If it runs well then I’ll be in no rush.

I'm still on Vega56 (that I picked up for £250)

I am tempted with by 3070 or 3080 as I'm now running a 1440p 165hz screen.

But I'm not struggling for performance in the games I'm playing at the moment so I'm going to wait for benchmarks on the new cards and see how it looks. I may wait for AMD and see if price/performance is better there.

I sometimes wonder what games some of you guys are playing to need more GPU than a 2080ti..

100fps and freesync and I'm happy.

I’m not a fan boy and if I didn’t keep hearing others horror stores, I’d switch, but every time I have tried ATI -> AMD over the years it’s bitten me in the ass with poor hardware or drivers. Leading me to rma/refund or just plain have to buy a new nvidia card. So I’m just going to straight up buy the 3080.
