The person selling will always think his second hand card with probably zero warranty is worth ££££

The person buying will see it as an outdated/old gen card with warranty/use worries and that the seller should be glad to recoup anything ;)

Cant see what all the panic about the 3070 going to be £450-£500 thats about £200 too much to pay for a gpu when theres about 2 pc games worth playing that require such power.

This is why i caved in for the Zotac 2080ti blower at £899 and registered it. So if the warranty can be transferred i should have did the shuffle but i do not want to wait 30days for it to be 25% in non RT games and like 80% to 100% in RT titles. I only paid £300 for mine anyways so i could still sell it.

About 1yr old now and in pristine condition, 5yr warranty +150mhs means it sits shy of 2000mhz so i am happy to wait for the next release but for sure i will again buy Zotac. I actually care about selling someone something at £400 knowing those fans are vulnerable to breakage.

Wouldnt pay anything for one now.

No warranty (a warranty is worth quite a lot) and known reliability issues...
Come to think of it, didn't the 2080ti have a unusually high failure rate?

I vague recall this is the case during the first few months after the initial release, not sure if things has improved or if it is still a case of lottery.

Zotac's Warranty is Non-Transferable though.

i would pay zero i would rather buy a 3070 and have the warranty

^^Yup this.

Plus the newer technological improvements over the previous generation is far more appealing.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But if I was in the market for a 2nd hand 2080ti it would have to come with:
  1. A transferable warranty that had not expired.
  2. The original box.
  3. The original purchase invoice (digital or paper).
I'd then be willing to go up to £400 (depending on the AIB model in question).

And of course the price clearly cannot exceed the price of a new 3070 under any circumstance.

For example.

There is currently a EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 TI FTW3 with 20 bids @ £580 + £15 P&P
5 Months old / no original box.

Verdict = Nice model but ultimately not worth it, may as well buy a new 3080 for that kind of cash level.

I have the chance of a 2080ti MSI ventus for £410. Should I go for it? A bit in 2 minds.
I got one today for 460 with waterblock and p+p etc, which also came with AIO cooler (280mm) which i dont need and can sell. 400 is worth it i think as the 3070 with 16Gb ram is not gonna be much more than £600. Id say £699 for a 3070 at 16Gb.

What res you gaming at?

The 3070 will be fine for 1080p and 1440p, it might lose out to the 2080ti @ 4k though.

Until we see the benchmarks we don't know for sure.
But I reckon it will be trading blows with the 2080ti for the most part.

1440p high refresh rate monitor and 4k TV so a bit of a mixture. Yeah, it's a bit of a gamble without seeing benchmarks. I was supposed to be buying a 2070super for £300 which fell through. Stupidly sold my sons card as he was getting my old card, so now I'm kinda needing a card asap lol.
