Replacing the old design as of 1st November. Will retail at same price as present PS2.

Figures.

Weight: 900g
Dimensions: 230mm x 152mm x 28mm
(a little bit bigger than a DVD case)

Plays DVD, DVD-R and DVD-RW

Network Adaptor built in.

No HDD available. (But you only need it for like 1 game)

Old Multi-taps do not fit. A new shape multitap is out also on Nov1.

The old design PS2 is no longer being manufactured.

The large PS2 logo on side, has been repalced with a smaller black one.

Is top loading.

System is much much quieter. No more Fan to wake the dead.

PSU is now external...

Rumours abound that it will be packaged with either GTA: San Andreus or Gran Turismo 4.
Sony have not confirmed this, but a spokesman did say they usually do that sort of thing at this time of year.

i think its a step for size/and also piracy prevention, i know a lot of people were buying ps2's with hdd's full of games and never needing the disk etc. sony probably didnt like this and by removing the hdd capability have solved the problem really.

class having a network thingy built in, if i ever get bb i might use its

Actually, i just thought about it some more. And imay just go for one of these. As theres only a few games a year that keep me going. I wont really be needing the HDD for that use as i happily pay for the good games.

I was going to buy one of these with GTA:SA as I'm missing the release of SA.

However, I just realised; why do I really need one? I have a PS2 already, which is hidden behind my television so it doesn't really intrude on the room anyway. Yes, it's very nice and I expect I'll get one eventually, but perhaps not just yet, eh.

Not a fan of the top-loading mechanism either. Needs more slot.
