Im on a 2600, and thinking I should wait for the 5nm chips before upgrading
If your going price/performance then the answer is basically, do you need the upgrade? especially if you are happy with what you have now.

I'm always going for the high end but get impatient, ordered a 3900X after launch and money went out but everything I ordered hadnt come by 3 1/2 weeks in which case I swapped out the CPU for a 3700X and it came next day, can't help myself sometimes lol. Trying for more patience this time around.not bothered if I can't get a 4900X at launch, I'll wait 2 months this time, same goes for 3080 or whatever RDNA2 card comes along, depending on performance of course.

More possible bs "leaks" but interesting to state.

Apparently internally AMD is VERY happy with the gaming performance of Zen 3 more than anything else the chip does. The unified CCX is confirmed from multiple sources: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI30tsue9jo

One of the main things I want to see is the Aida64 latency. I think we might be under 50ns with decent RAM (on the 8 core anyway)

I'm happy that they're happy. Need more than that.
There hasn't been a launch where we knew less about performance 4 weeks before release. Most of what we currently know about Zen 3 was known in 2019.
Stop holding cards close, give us numbers! Not like you need to keep secret from competition matching your move (the can't if they tried)

Haha, yea I wish I knew their reasoning for this as well but still, not too long until we find out. We've waited this long lol

Zen3 FP IPC Gain ~10%, Int IPC Gain >> 10%. ST perf (Frequency + IPC) Gain 15-20%.

Cinebench R20 Single thread over 600 points if these leaks are correct (can't see why they wouldn't be). According to the Overclockers UK database the rank 1 score for ST CB20 is 601 by a 9900k at 5.7 Ghz.

Zen 3 is basically going to be a 5.75 Ghz 9900k.
