Moving a company car into Southern Ireland from the UK

Has anyone had any experience of doing this?

We have a company car which we are looking to give to one of our new Sales reps in Southern Ireland.

Iv read up on it and it looks like we will need to register it with the state and pay VTR tax.

Anyone know of the cost implications and procedure for doing this? in layman terms.

Garda also intermittently stop/seize UK registered cars until fees/fines paid if you decide to risk keeping it in RoI without re-registering it. (not sure of timescale - could be 6 or 12 months before it must be reregistered)
