Hello, a while back I picked up a cheap 7.1 Speaker system which came with an Active Pioneer SW80s Subwoofer. Yesterday I bought a Sony STR-DH790 to pair with the system but I am a little confused on how to connect the Sub to it. The Sub has no LFE Connection, you can see the connections in this google images link

The receiver just seems to have a Subwoofer Out connection.

What's the procedure for connecting them up?

Connect the sub out on the receiver to the 'line in' on the subwoofer. Does the sub have any manual level or crossover control?

No, there's no controls of any kind on the Sub. Will the Receiver handle the crossover through the Line In like it would through an LFE?

All the pictures I can see of a Pioneer SW80s show it as having controls on the front rather than the back. A power switch, phase switch, level control and turnover. Turnover is just another word for crossover.

On the rear panel you want to connect the receiver to the line level input RCA socket. (the bottom one)

You're totally right, I had the Sub front facing the wall in the garage when I checked it earlier. I've just checked again and it does have the controls on the front. Thank you both for clearing it up, I've ordered a Sub Woofer cable and I'll connect it as instructed :)
