Time to hang out your dirty laundry again guys. I was going to make a thread the other day anyway and now a sparked interest on another thread on this topic. May as well get its own one.
Would be good to see what people are thinking about for their next card too.
I'll go first:

X300se
6600gt 128mb
7800gt
X1900xt
X1900xtx crossfire
8800gts 320mb
3870x2
4870 1gb
7970
Fury Tri X
Vega 64
5700xt
Possibly big navi. Let's see how much £/performance it is first. If not looking at possible 3080 but 20gb one.

ATi Rage Pro
nVidia Geforce 2 (might have even been a Ti ?)
ATi 9700 Pro
nVidia 8800 GTS (G92)
AMD 6970
AMD 7970 -- later added a second one in xfire when the first 4k panels came out
AMD Fury X -- xfired briefly, then dropped to one
AMD Vega 64 (PC) / nVidia 1070 (laptop, full fat gpu though)

Next is looking like the 3080, if reviews don't poo-poo the marketing slides too much I'll order it on 17th -- I can always pick up a Ti or Navi later. I might have missed a card or 2

ATi X800 Pro AGP (still have this somewhere for legacy use)
Sapphire Vapor-X HD5770
GeForce 8600GT
EVGA GTX 680
Current card : Gigabyte G1 GTX 1060 6GB

Having just thought about it, I don't seem to upgrade very often seeing as I've been in this game for two decades. :o

Next card will likely be the RTX 3060 assuming the price point is where I'd like it to be.

I started gaming on an Atari, Floppy disk days... and for PC I had the very first ever graphics card that came out, voodoo banshee era I remember being a big leap at the time. There's no way I can remember all the gfx cards I've had since then lol!

I've owned at least one (and sometimes multiple - at least six different R9 290Xs for example) of the following at one point or another...

AMD:
HD 4870
HD 7850
HD 7970
R9 270
R9 280X
R9 285
R9 290
R9 290X
R9 390X
R9 Fury
R9 Nano
RX 480
RX 570
RX 580
RX 590
RX 5700 XT

Nvidia:
GTX 570
GTX 660 Ti
GTX 690
GTX 780
GTX 960
GTX 970
GTX 980
GTX 980 Ti
GTX 1060
GTX 1070
GTX 1080
GTX 1080 Ti
GTX 1660 Super
RTX 2070 Super
RTX 2080 Super

Couldn't tell you what order. Could be missing a few. Not sure what's next. Depends on what AMD have to show.

Nvidia TNT - ???
Fx5200 - crap
8600GT - crap
9800GTX+ - pretty good
4890 - great
4890 xfire - fantastic in games supporting it, OK everywhere else
7870 - meh
7970 - great
390X - pretty good
1070ti - underwhelming
3080 or AMD equivalent - boom

I've owned approximately a billion other graphics cards but these are the crap bought when they were current for my main PC.

Looking at the RTX 3070 or if the 3080 warrants the extra money however if the 3070 can do 4k60 with a few tweaked settings (very high vs ultra) I'll just get the 3070. It'll still be the fastest card I've ever had and tbf I was happy with my 1080 in till only recently selling it.

This gen I'm looking to spend a bit more. Most likely going to be the 3070 as Nvidia particularly work well encoding in Davinci Resolve but ppotentially ocould go with AMD's offering in that price bracket providing it has the performance (and the extra VRAM could be handy too.

GeForce 2 GTS
Radeon 9800 Pro
GeForce 8600 GT
GeForce GTX 260
GeForce GTX 760
Radeon R9 390X
GeForce GTX 1070
Radeon RX 5700 XT

Now waiting to see the reviews for the new NVIDIA + AMD cards. Unless AMD offers significantly better price/perf than NVIDIA I'll probably get the 3080, the experience with the 5700XT has left a somewhat sour taste.

After I split from the shared PC with my brother.

6800 Ultra
8800GTS, RMA'd into
9800 GTX+
GTX 480
GTX 780/970 - Due to an presistant PC problem I borrowed a GTX 970 from a mate at work to test if the GPU was at fault, he took my 780. GPU wasn't the problem and since they are basically the same card we agreed to keep them. Same guy said I could use his 1070 when he got a 2070 but I refused due to the resale value being £200+ at the time.

Hoping to get an RTX 3080 for 1440p 144Hz

These were all bought on Overclockers with the exception of the 2070 RTX. As for my next and probably last graphics card, will wait and get reviews from trustworthy sources (not Nvidia) and await Amd's cards and their reviews and then decide. I have no plans to spend more than £649.
