hat games, in your opinion, had the greatest soundtracks?
I was considering titling The thread "best" instead of "your favourite", but there's no need to take your rose tinted glasses off to post in this thread. If it makes your shortlist due to your fond memories of playing the game, then go ahead and post it. Whilst this is posted in the console section, I think PC / whatever games are fine too.
Both "real" songs and digital / MIDI soundtracks are fine.
I'll start off;
games with "real" music
- Need for speed underground 2 (PS2)
- Snoop dogg - riders on the storm
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VAF-4Er7_A
- Queens of the stoneage - In my head
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69e8oa85F3g
- Spiderbait - Black Betty
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU1VfYYKMDk
- Dave Mirra Freestyle Bmx (PSX)
- Rancid - Maxwell Murder (!!! never would have heard this song if not for this game and its great)
- Sublime - What I Got
- Dropkick Murphys - Never Alone

Games with digital soundtracks
- Final Fantasy... I'm going to go with X (PS2), though its a hard choice which! VII (PSX) Brings back so memories too!
- Besaid Island (So relaxing)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBmv-qc5DnA
- Otherworld (Ok, not digital, but pretty bad ass)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlssH5taZrk
- The sight of spira (tough choice, tons of other great tracks)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai841xucDPE
- Zelda ocarina of time (N64)
- cant even be bothered to pick out tracks, partly because this post has already taken much longer than I expected and partly because the whole game sounds great.
- Pokemon gen1 and gen2 (GB / GBC)
- Spent SO much time playing these when I was young. The tracks are burnt deep into my mind. Some genuinely fantastic tracks in those games IMO.
- Super Mario world (SNES)
- Simply timeless, and probably the first game I ever got absorbed into.
