I assisted a mate in a start up (it is just him!) from May until August or so. It has a website, it is operational however nothing concrete has come through yet (business is a platform that is to be sold to clients) so my direct work dryed up.

I am looking for roles in a different sector totally but i want to have this on my CV to enhance it/plug a gap as the last time i worked was Nov last year.

I haven't done any work for him since August so i am thinking i may say my role was a contract to explain why it was so short? And i am also expecting someone to ask me "if it is so good/successful why did you leave?"

Quite a vague post but looking for guidance on how to approach this...

I would. It's all experience and you went into do a job for a specific reason, and you completed it. Simple as. Why are you not still there? Because you were asked to come in and do that job which you did. Doesn't matter if anything comes of the company at the end of the day, but you played your role and that's experience which is all good in my eyes.
