Morning...

2 machines (1 laptop on WiFi and 1 PC (RHYSPC) on Ethernet)
Since reinstalling Windows (SAME PC NAME AS PREVIOUS INSTALL) I'm unable to RDP from Laptop to the PC. The RDC connection thinks the PC does not exist on the local network. Router page confirms DHCP lease and i've set a static IP on the machine/router (192.168.1.100)

Both machine are on a Private network.

LAPTOP CONFIG
Wireless Lan Adaptor:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix: lan
IPv4:
Subnet Mask: 255.55.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254

NSLOOKUP: RHYSPC
Server: dsldevice.lan
Address: 192.168.1.254

**dsldevice.lan can't find rhyspc: Non-existent domain

I can ping RHYSPC from the laptop and it resolves the correct IP. I can also ping the IP and it resolves the correct hostname.

PC CONFIG

Connection Specific DNS Suffix: lan (this i've manually set in IPv4 config as it wasn't there. It's not there on the laptop either so not sure where the config is pulling it from)
IPv4: 192.168.1.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254
Preferred DNS Server: 192.168.1.254

I've flushed DNS on both machines and rebooted.
Turning the firewalls off on both machines doesn't help.
I've cleared previous DHCP leases on the router for the PC.
I can RDP to the laptop from the PC.

Any ideas please?
